Creating a Smart Map
1. Put Milestone into Setup mode. When Setup mode is active, this button will be orange.

2. Create a new view to hold your smart map. You likely only need a single view tile, unless you have other things you want along side the smart map.
3. Under the System overview section, drag and drop Smart map to your desired tile.

4. Zoom into the area on the world map where you would like to add cameras/buildings. Use the tools pane to create a new location, then click the location and name it. In this case, I have selected The PIER to make a new location there. This will allow you to immediately zoom to this location by clicking on it.

5. New building allows you to create a new building object my dragging the square to fit the map. You can also add levels if the building has multiple floors. The Pencil icon next to Building 2 on the right side of this image allows you to rename the building.

6. Once you have added your floor, select the floor you'd like to add your map to. Select the add new custom layer or map tool on the tools pane (left) and then click into the building you are working on.
7. Name your overlay, in this case PIER 1st floor. Then select "Map" as your overlay type and then select which map you would like to place here. Click "Continue", then "Continue" on the pop up.

8. adjust the map to fit the building, then click Save, then Import the devices. This will import the devices on that map into your Smart map.

9. If you dont have a map for the area you are working on or you just need to add a device that was not included on the map you can use the Add a device tool

10. Once you are done editing your map, click "Setup" again to exit setup mode. The button should now be black again.
